Money and Men become biggest challenge for opposition in Tripura poll

With the sudden erosion of party leadership in major political oppositions, Congress and Trinamool Congress in Tripura are facing a tough time to re-organise the strength in Tripura. After shifting of Trinamool President Ashis Saha along with five MLAs of party rank to BJP having accused Mamata Banerjee, for being close to CPI-M, TMC has lost its total base due to shortage of leaders and supporters.
Besides, none of them have any funding from the central level or local, which appear to be the biggest challenge for the present flag bearers of the parties to survive. Being an election bound state, BJP is having a solid financial capacity to fight against the leftists but the only weakness is leadership.
The United Democratic Party (UDP) released the names of its candidate for the upcoming Election in 2018. In the first list the UDP has declared 28 names, 14 in the khasi hills and ten in the Garo Hills.
The President of the UDP Dr Donkupar Roy said that all the 28 names are cleared by the Election Committee (EC) in the meeting today. All the sitting MLA of the party must confirm that they will contest from the party in the 2018 election.
From Jaintia Hills the names include the former CEM of the JHADC, who is also sitting MDC Mr Moonlight Parait from 2-Jowai Constituency and Mr Kyrmen Shylla from 6-Khliehriat Constituency,
From Ri Bhoi Sitting MDC Smti Rona Khyndeit from 9-Nongpoh Constituency, from 11-Umsning Constituency Mr Donkupar Sumer sitting MDC in the KHADC and from 12-Umroi Constituency Mr First Force Deki Ramsiej.
In East Khasi Hills, 15-Mawlai Constituency Mr Embhahlang Syiemlieh, 16-East Shillong Constituency, Mr Bindo M Lanong, 17-North Shillong Constituency, Mr Joe Marwein, 18- West Shillong Constituency, Mr Paul Lyngdoh, 21-Nongthymmai Constituency Dr Jemino Mawthoh. 25-Mawsynram Constituency Mr Olan Suin, 26-Shella Constituency Dr Donkupar Roy. 28-Sohra Constituency Mr Titosstarwell Chyne. 29-MawkynrewConstituency, Mr. Remingtone Pyngrope.

Disaster Management Training for Children with Disabilities
The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) South West Khasi Hills District organised a one day programme for the differently abled students & teachers of Lynti Jingkyrmen School.
The workshop including mock drill was organized at the Multi-purpose hall DC office. The event was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum- CEO, DDMA, Shri H S Lyngdoh in the presence of Smti. D L Kharkongor, District Disaster Management Officer, South West Khasi Hills Mawkyrwat and other senior government officials.
During the training the students were sensitized on the concept of Disaster Management and the do’s and don’ts in time of earthquake, cyclone, flood, lightning and thunderstorms. They were also imparted practical training on search & rescue and first aid.
