Latiplang Kharkongor the first Independent MDC to file nomination for CEM

Today history created in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) after Independent MDC Latiplang Kharkongor file nomination for the post of Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the KHADC. It is for the first time in the KHADC where and independent candidate is contesting for the post of CEM,

Speaking after filing nomination Latiplang Kharkongor said I have always perform the duty which I hold in every department for fourth term as MDC. Lambasting the outgoing CEM Latiplang Kharkongor said that the ruling coalition which is leading the EC in the Council for the past eight months has failed on all fronts.

“Many bills have just been lying in the CEM Chambers for the past 8 months” he added. When asked on the Bills and laws introduced by the past EC, Latiplang Kharkongor said that if we come to EC we will do follow up on the pending Bills or laws introduce by the outgoing EC if those Bills are in the interest of the District Council or people of the State as a whole.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is on the way to restore the lost glory of Ayodhya and develop it as Awadhpuri, the name by which the town has been referred in ‘Ramcharitmanas’ penned by Tulsidas. The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented welfare schemes without any bias and ensured the benefits reach all the people, without any discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, language, just like in Ram Rajya, as Chief Minister inaugurated the development projects worth Rs 226 crore for the city.

CM Yogi mentioned “In last five years, India is being recognized as a cultural, strategic and economic power. The commitment with which government schemes and welfare programmes have been implemented in the country is an example of modern Ram Rajya”.

There is a need of ‘Anti-defection’ law in KHADC: Teinwell Dkhar

United Democratic Party (UDP) MDC Teinwell Dkhar toaday file the nomination for Chief Executive Member (CEM) post after his Executive Committee collapsed during the non-confidence motion moved by the Opposition on 20th November.

Speaking after the filing of nomination Teinwell Dkhar said that the main reason for the collapsed of the Executive Member (EM) is due to the lack of ‘Anti Defection law’

“We hope that in the near future the anti defection will be implemented in the District Council as to prevent unnecessary defection by any members of the house” Teinwell Dkhar added.

The former CEM went on to say that in any politics there will always be differences among its members but defection o another party is not the solution but instead members should indulge in debates rather that defecting to another party just for personal benefits.”In the near future we hope that the spirit of the 10th scheduled will also be include in the 6th schedule so that to frame anti defection laws which will prevent any members from defecting to another party in quick session Teinwell Dkhar concluded.

Travel and Tourism Bazar 2019 in Shillong underway

The Travel and Tourism Bazar 2019 underwent today in All Saint Hall Shillong, Meghalaya. Speaking during the inaugural program Governor of Meghalaya Shri Tathagata Roy said that the future of Meghalaya lies in tourism. “I personally believe in tourism hence it is important to focus on development of tourism in the State”, the Governor lamented.

The Governor also stress on the need for proper infrastructure and proper promotion of Meghalaya tourism in the national and international level. The Governor also said that for the State to develop it has to be through tourism because through tourism it can generate employment and healthy income for the State as a whole.

Travel and Tourism Bazar aims to provide an annual opportunity for the various State Tourism Bodies of India as well as numerous Private organizations from India and abroad to showcase their products and services. Visitors can interact with tour-operators, travel agents, hoteliers and airlines to gather information and make national and international travel plans.

Meghalaya aims to increase revenue in Exercise Department

The Meghalaya Government today in its cabinet meeting has decided to push laws that will enhance and improve the revenue collection by the Exercise Department in the State.

Speaking to media person after the cabinet meeting Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the State Government will come up with several rules for the Exercise Department to increase their revenue collection in the State.

“we have receives several suggestion by the cabinet members regarding the rules to enhance the revenue collection in the state, therefore we will incorporated those rules before giving final nod to the rules for increasing the revenue collection in the Exercise Department in the State” Conrad K Sangma.

When asked on legalizing the wine making which has day by day becoming popular in the state, the Chief Minister said that the Government will look for ways to make wine making legal in the State.
