Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi who was in Guwahati recently to preside over a review meeting of the North- East Council hailed the city as the North-East’s “brain” handsomely lauding the diverse research activities being conducted by such institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology.
Other institutions, too in Guwahati are conducting pathbreaking research. A distinguished emeritus Hooch Queen, aided and abetted outskirts of Guwahati is directing an outstanding research effort into Fermentation Technology and Alcohol Chemistry – research that has put the city firmly on the ID liquor map of the Northeast.
