The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led three-party alliance government in Assam came to power only in the month of May this year. The teething trouble has started in the alliance government at this very tender age due to some ‘unimaginable’ issues. Former twice chief minister, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta of alliance partner Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has raised some irrelevant issues and has demanded from the Centre to rethink over such decisions before proceeding on those. A number of organizations like Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chhatra Parisad (AJYCP), All Assam Students Union (AASU) including the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) have started agitation against this move of the Union government. A number of petty organizations who depend on ‘easy tips’ have also joined hands with them.
