‘Vote For Mizoram’ signature campaign gains momentum

“We appeal to the people of Mizoram to vote Mizoram in the next assembly election which is due in November this year” he said, adding, the YMM has no authority to say who is and who is not to be voted for, but can only request people to vote for the good of Mizoram, keeping aside Party feeling.
The YMM president urged the people of Mizoram not to vote for the sake of personal interest, party or regional profit, as now it is high time to think for the good of the entire state (Mizoram). “ You and the party of your particular area can never develop unless there is a good governance”, he added.
Notably, the campaign exhorted all concerned voters to put their signature under a pledge that reads: “I hereby make a pledge that I will now vote for Mizoram, keeping aside party feelings and say a ‘big no’ to vote buying.”
A signature campaign of this kind had also started in various parts of the state like Lunglei; Serchhip; Mamit; Champhai; Kolasib and Kawnpui.
According to YMM Jt. Secretary K. Ramsangzuala, the origin of Youth Movement for Mizoram could be traced back to March when Youths assembled from across the state set up YMM in view of ‘Reconstructing Mizoram State’ in various ways and particularly through votes.
He said in order to start reconstruction, “We have to face criticism, blame, attack to cure Mizoram”, adding that the righteous administrators must be pointed out through signature campaign.
The Motto/theme of YMM is ‘to be or not’ and ‘the youths will reconstruct Mizoram through votes’. “Vote for Mizoram is a pledge of voters to vote only for the righteous persons as administrators or leaders through signature in a blank space”, he added.
