Action plans for the development of village and Panchayat

743.79  lakh employment days have been  created. Job cards were distributed to 13,01078 families and 16  lakh jobcards were issued. N.R.E.G.A has also been made effective in all districts of Assam.
N.O.A.P.S + I.G.N.O. Ap – The aim of this scheme is to help the needy people who are living under the poverty line who are over  56 years of age. In 2006– 07, Rs 81.35 crores has been released for the old age pension of 628949 people of hill districts.
N.F.B.S – This aim of this national family welfare scheme is to provide ex – gratia for the family in the case of the sudden demise of the main earner of the family.ANNAPURNA – Under this scheme, if the head of the family is 65 years of age and living below the poverty line and has not been covered by the N.O.A.P.S scheme, then this scheme supplies 10 kgs of rice to the family per month.
I.W.D.P/ Hariyali – The aim of this scheme is to convert uncultivable land into cultivable land.
The Schemes under 11th and 12th Finance Commission:-
Under this scheme, a sectioned amount of funds is to be used for the development of prime health, prime education, pure drinking water, street lights, rural health care, drainage system and to create common village wealth. In 2006 – 07 an amount of Rs. 5008.275 lakhs has been released by this commission.
Fund for Underdeveloped Area (B.R.G.F) -  As per this scheme, work has to be done at the village and town itself and the state high level committee has to inspect the work along with the approval from the District Planning Commission. Rs. 70.20 crores have been released for this purpose in 2007 – 08.
Asom Bikash Yojana –
Under this yojana, Rs. 1550.00 lakhs have been released in 2007 – 08. Rs. 200 lakhs to self help earner, Rs. 250 lakhs to purchase sewing machines, Rs. 300 lakhs to provide  televisions to gaon panchayat and Rs. 800 lakhs to provide rickshaws, pull cart etc to those who are living under the poverty line.
State Developing Village Organisation (A very brief action programme in 2006 – 07 and 2007 – 08)
Training – A total of 1,05,696 youth have been given proper training for arrangement of the real activity of Panchayati Raj, empowerment of self help firms, development of small industry, use of computers, formation of society.
Chief Minister’s Self Jibon Jyoti Yojana – In the last two years, Rs. 55.12 crores has been sanctioned for 5475 youth for their self earning and to increase cultivation work, animal and dairy farms, preservation of fruits, agro processing, business, village transport, computer training centre, weaving, establishment of small industry, etc.
13 Successful Ladies—
It is a self help organisation of 13 ladies of Goalpara District. It is popularly known as Madhyapara Self help Firm. This self help firm started a pig farm with an initial bank loan of Rs. 25,000. This firm of 13 ladies develops day by day and each of them gains Rs. 1000 monthly. Each of them is expected to earn Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4000 per month in the near future.
Himalaya Self Help Firm
This is a firm of 12 youths of Lakhimpur and was established in 2004. This firm manufactures tables, chairs, mura, partitions out of cane and bamboo. They started to save a monthly amount of Rs. 30 each in their bank account. After this, they opened a Rivalring Fund of Rs. 25,000. They earned Rs. 1700 each and at last count, they earned a collective amount of Rs. 75,000 annually.
Dudhupur Mahita Self Help Firm –
This is a 13 Mahila Self Help Firm of Silchar’s Katigarh 2 No. Development Block. In the first stage this firm was started through small savings and was registered under the developing village scheme. They got loans of Rs. 10,000 and 15,000 from D.R.D.A and Canara Bank respectively. With this amount, they purchased two weaving machines and started producing different types of clothes. They earned a huge amount by selling these clothes. Now, they give loans from their fund and get interest on that.
Hatimura Ghuli
Hatimura Ghuli is a place which is at a distance of 3 kms from Rani under Kamrup District. This Hatimura Ghuli is becoming an attractive tourist destination under Silver Jubilee Village Developing Self Earning Scheme. Under the S.G.R.Y  scheme, 3 kms of road was constructed from Rani among other attractive work.
Saral Bhangga River Bandh-
The Saral Bhangga River comes from Bhutan. It is a river with a very swift current. The National Village Developing Scheme is constructing an embankment, koffer drum, Tai bandh, etc on both sides of the river. The proposed expenditure is Rs. 46,22,22,000 and is estimated to reach completion in 11,74,806 days. More than 16 villages and 2,000 hectares of land will be protected from floods after the completion of this scheme.
