NABANITA AMONG TOP TWENTY IN IAS

NABANITA AMONG TOP TWENTY IN IAS

When Nabanita Chakrabarti passed her class XII examination from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara, Guwahati in 1996, she emerged as one of the toppers in the entire country. She got an invitation from the HRD Ministry to witness the Republic Day parade in 1997 from a seat in the Prime Minister’s Box. That was an indication of things to come. The results of the UPSC examinations are just out and Nabanita  is among the top twenty successful candidates. No one from the North East has got such a coveted position in recent years.
After doing her Major in English from Cotton College Guwahati, Nabanita joined  J.N.U. Delhi for her Post Graduation. With only one dream in her heart, to qualify for the Indian Administrative Service, she says “I am feeling elated as my dream has come true.”
With options open before her, Nabanita would rather join the Indian Foreign Service than the IAS. Her final word, “Many young boys and girls in the North East have a misconception that IAS is difficult. It is not. We have the talent. All we need is hard work.”
