Shillong Cricketer in IPL

Badshah Talukdar was born in Shillong on the 8th of August 1988 and is the second of Mallay and Shivani Talukdar’s two children.
He attended All Saints School till the 9th standard and passed his matriculation from P N Chaudhuri High School, Rilbong, Shillong. After this, he moved to Kolkata to pursue his studies.
Badshah had always been playing tennis ball cricket in his home town of Shillong and after he moved to Kolkata, he approached Mr. Milan Biswas the coach of the Sinthee Roypara Cricket Camp and Mr. Biswas is quoted as saying, “His talent was spotted right away.” Within a matter of a few months, Badshah was playing for Sahapur Sporting Club in the 2nd Division.
Badshah first played competitive cricket in January 2008 for the club and picked up four wickets in his debut match. He went on to pick up nineteen wickets in six matches. This brought him to the attention of the Cricket Association of Bengal and he was selected for Indian Premiere League net practice. This season he is permitted to practice with the home and guest teams including all international players.
Badshah has hopes of one day wearing the tri colours of the men in blue and is very grateful to Mr. Milan Biswas for giving him this chance and says of him, “He is my Dronacharaya!”

1.    Rahul Dravid (India) said that Jacques Kallis (South Africa) likes playing his bowling.
2.    John Buchanan (Australia) says that Badshah’s bowling action is very good and that he should not change it.
