Ever wondered to be rich overnight! Yes the dream has come true for the Bomja villagers in Arunachal Pradesh. Almost all the households that received the payment became crorepatis in a day following the development.

This economic boom for the Bomja villagers resulted for the land acquisition in the area by the Union Ministry of Defence. The ministry has reportedly released payment worth Rs 40,80,38,400. Out of the 31 household, 29 received a land compensation of Rs 1,09,03,813.37 each, while there was one family which received Rs 2,44,97,886.79 and another that received a whopping cost of Rs 6,73,29,925.48 Crores. With this, every family in Bomja village has become a crorepati family. The payment was made by the Defence Ministry to as many as 31 households in the Bomja village as payment towards acquisition of 200.056 acres of land.

Ever the exotic, Northeast to add a hint of vanilla to its unfolding mysteries, thanks to an effort by Spices Board of India, which had airlifted 20,000 metres of vanilla vines to Tripura in 2005, a step, appears like a persuasive tribute to the world’s favourite ice-cream flavour. In order to attract export market, the State Government has initiated a plan to make Tripura a vanilla hub for the region by next few years, as the state is blessed by a favourable agro climatic conditions for vanilla.

Jonathone N. Sangma was an aspirant for getting elected as a member of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. The irony was however, that during the campaign, Jonathone lost his life, killed in an explosion of an improvised explosive device, the sound which shook the small village of Sawilgre, across the Simsang River. A pall of gloom fell upon the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and also specially the family of the slain leader, his wife Krinilla, a mother of three children.

According to recent Human Immuno deficiency Virus (HIV) Surveillance Report of 2016-2017 by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), the State of Mizoram has the highest number of HIV positive cases. According to NACO’s report, around 15235 people in Mizoram are recorded to be living with HIV disease. The first case of HIV was recorded in early 1990s and it was the result of ‘drugs uses’. From the early 2000s till date it was reported that ‘sexual driven’ is one of the reason in the increase of HIV in the state. It may be noted that drugs abused and sexual desire are two main components in spreading of HIV in Mizoram. Mizoram has the highest HIV victims and the State saw 1736 death from this disease.
